Who’s your daddy?

We are having a quiet night tonight listening to Red Sox vs. Rays game on Boston’s WRKO 680AM. It’s the bottom of the 10th inning all tied up at 2-2, and the radio announcers are having a ball with each team’s late-inning bases-loaded squanderings. I love hearing the animation in their voices on every pitch — it’s second best if you can’t be there in person. Suffice it to say we listen to a lot of games on the radio. So much so, Jude just said to me: “At this rate, this baby is going to think Joe Castiglione is its father.”

I’ve been listening to Joe on Red Sox radio my whole life, and with any luck, he’ll keep covering the games long into my unborn child’s life — similarly to how Johnny Most covered the Celtics until he practically couldn’t talk anymore. We’re still a month away from meeting Baby Healey, but I’m of the opinion you can never start preparing someone too early to become a member of Red Sox Nation.

Have your say
