IE6 No More

Friday, July 11, 2008 around 9 am mountain time

I’m not Steve Jobs nor is this site Apple.com. But I’m so happy about Apple’s new MobileMe and its lack of support for IE6 — the first major Web application to drop support for the still-widely-used Microsoft browser — that I decided I’m dropping IE6 support, too. I spend too many hours forcing sites like this and others at my day job to work in IE6, and I just don’t care enough anymore.

I am in the middle of a site redesign, and this is one less thing standing in my way. I like 37signals’ take on MobileMe and IE6: I, too, am hoping this is the beginning of a trend.

Have your say
