A first-hand photographic and video-graphic look at Emirates Airlines' newest Airbus A380.

A first-hand photographic and video-graphic look at Emirates Airlines’ newest Airbus A380. Jude and I originally said we’d never want to fly on this plane, but after a second or third look, I think we’ve changed our minds.

Photos and video of an in-flight tour of an Emirates Airbus A380, a passenger jet that can be configured to carry more than 850 passengers at a time. This particular plane had room for 399 economy, 76 business class, and 14 first class passengers (ensconced in suites, not just seats). There was a bar, showers for first class passengers, video cameras on the tail, nose, and underside of the plane that you can watch during the flight, and a relatively soundproof cabin (even during takeoff).

I sent my wife off this morning for the far side of the world. She left at dawn from Denver, and when I checked Delta.com to ensure her flight departed on time, I was presented with the best commercial airline flight status page I’ve seen. Integrating FAA flight status data, Delta’s clean design, and Google Maps, it’s an overall great experience. I’ve been nothing but impressed with this airline since it emerged from Chapter 11 twenty months ago.
